Computer Courses
Osborne Village Resource Centre offers three basic computer courses
to help people develop their computer literacy.
For individuals with minimal or no computer experience,
Fundamentals of Personal Computers is a good place to start.
This course covers the very basics of computers, including using a mouse,
and proceeds through to basic word processing, using the Internet,
and finally, to email.
The next course is
Basic MS Word, which builds upon Fundamentals of Personal
Computers and helps to get students quite comfortable with using Microsoft Word 2003.
Our last course is
Basic MS Excel, which in turn builds upon Basic MS Word. Not
everybody has the need to learn Microsoft Excel 2003, but it is widely used in the
working world and may be a valuable skill to pick up.
Each of these courses is $65, one night per week.
Osborne Village Resource Centre also offers
One-on-One Computer Tutoring on all the topics covered in our three courses.
An instructor will sit next to you at a computer at the Centre and guide you through
what you would like to learn. One session lasts 1.5 hours and costs $15.
Descriptions of each of these workshops are given below.
To see when they are offered, check out our Calendars
